4 oz. white wine, 1 demi (small) spoon of crushed garlic, 1/4 c. lemon juice, 1/2 lb. Emmenthaler (Emmental) cheese, 1/2 lb. Gruyere Swiss cheese, 1/2 oz. kirschwasser (cherry brandy).

For dipping: pieces of cubed bread, crackers, apples, carrots, mushrooms, other vegetables as desired.

Grate cheese. Lightly dust cheese with flour and set aside.

In a hot fondue pot, add wine, garlic, and lemon juice--stir with fork. Slowly add the cheese combo and stir to melt. Add Kirsch and let it burn off. Add fresh ground pepper to taste.

We had a fun gathering of neighbors at the Melting Pot restaurant and loved this fondue recipe. Victor, our AFS student also enjoyed the restaurant, with a focus on the meat.
