1 16 oz can dark red kidney beans
1 16 oz can butter beans
1 30 oz can pork-n-beans
1 medium onion
1 lb. hamburger
1 lb. bacon
1 c. ketchup
2 T. prepared mustard
1 c. light brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon. Set aside on paper towel to absorb grease. Fry hamburger. Chop onion. Add onion to hamburger and fry until onion is translucent.
Drain grease from hamburger. Drain kidney and butter beans and rinse in colander. Add kidney beans, butter beans and pork-n-beans to hamburger/onion. Mix together ketchup, mustard and brown sugar. Add to rest of ingredients and stir. Bring casserole to a slight boil then reduce heat. Crumble bacon and sprinkle over top of casserole. Cook on low heat for 1/2 hour or until thoroughly heated.

*If preferred, after everything has been mixed together and heated to a slight boil, put casserole in a crockpot. Sprinkle bacon on top, then switch to low setting.
Doubled recipe is great for potlucks, etc...

The original recipe was given to my mother from my cousin Charlotte (Hanson) Dahl quite a few years ago I have altered a few of the directions. I take this casserole to potlucks, family gatherings and cook it at home for Jeff and I. I always receive compliments and a request for the recipe. It is a quick and easy recipe and also very filling with corn bread on the side. Charlotte uses turkey bacon in her "Three Bean Casserole" and she says that it tastes very good, which is a great substitution for those who don't eat pork.
