1-8 oz. can tomato sauce
1/4 c. light karo syrup
2 TBS. prepared mustard
1 c. grated apple (peeled)
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
1/2 c. dry bread crumbs
1/2 c. grated onion
1/2 tsp. salt + 1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 1/2 lb.hamburger

In a small bowl mix:

1-8 oz. tomato sauce
1/4 cup light karo syrup
2 TBS. prepared mustard

In a large bowl mix:

3/4 cup of the tomato mixture
1 cup grated apple (peeled)
2 eggs (slightly beaten)
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
1/2 cup grated onion
1/2 tsp. salt = 1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Add: 1 1/2 lb. hamburger and mix.
Bake in 9' x 9' pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then remove and pour remaining tomato mixture on top and bake another 30 minutes.

* I got this from Mom. It was my husband, Jim's favorite. The grated apples make it SO sweet and moist!
