Notes: Aunt Florence was mom's teacher one year in grade school. The kids used to torment her because she was so young that she could have been a sister to each of them. An official of some sort who had to oversee how Aunt Florence was doing in her teaching position came to the school one day. The children were on their best behavior, not wanting to get her in any trouble because they all really liked her. The official looked around and couldn't seem to find anything wrong. The students had made pilgrim pictures and Florence hung them on the wall. The lady looked around at each picture then came to one of the pilgrims with purple shoes and said "Everybody knows that the Pilgrims did not wear purple shoes!' in her haughty way. Mom still laughs that she couldn't find anything wrong, but she HAD to say something! Jackie
