Personal Notes:
My father loved garage sales. Most of the time he would come home with something pretty interesting. In Springfield, Oregon in the 60's he went to a garage sale and the guy that was having the sale had a monkey. The man was abusing it. My dad didn't like what was going on and offered the guy $25.00 for the monkey. Dad came home with it and that was the beginning of our short lived ownership of a monkey. The monkey lived in a greenhouse in our back yard and dad was really the only one who could handle her. Cheetah (the monkey's name) was pretty skittish since she had been abused. Dad would put her on her leash and we would get to talk to her and throw treats to her. The neighbor's son was a little stinker. He would tease Cheetah. One day the monkey bit him. Well, we all thought he deserved it, but it was my mom and dad's first time they had to deal with the threat of a lawsuit. They were forced to get rid of the monkey. Cheetah went home with a couple that had a lot of property and were going to let her run free in their trees...and that's all I know.
