5 eggs
1 c sugar
2 1/2 c whole milk
1/2 stick butter
1 t vanilla extract
1 unbaked 9 5/8 deep dish pie
nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Beat eggs well, once at a time. Add sugar a little at a time; mix well. In a small boiler, heat milk (d0 n0t boil). Add butter and let melt. Add milk mixture to sugar and eggs mix well. Add vanilla extract. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Bake 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 300 and bake for 35 minutes. Pie will appear undercooked when removed from oven, but it will continue to cook. Sliced when cool.
