6 Large Apples, peeled, cored and quartered
3/4 C granulated sugar (divides use)
1 tsp allspice
1 C water with 1 tsp vanilla added
2 C flour
3 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
4 tsp butter
1 1/2 C buttermilk

Directions:
Pre heat oven 325 degrees Butter 2 qt ovenproof casserol. Put apples in casserol. combine 1/2 C sugar and spices, sprinkles over apples. Pour vanilla water over the apples. Make biscuit dough, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in butter. Mix in buttermilk until combined. Pat dough into shape to fit casserol dish and place ontop of apples. Cover lightly with foil. Bake 30 minutes, remove foil. Bake 30 to 40 minutes longer until biscuits are baked and golden brown. Serve warm
