9 inch unbaked pie shell

Filling: 6 cups thinly sliced apples Topping: 1/3 cup butter
1 Tbsp lemon juice 1/3 cup brown sugar
2 Tbsp flour 2/3 cup flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
Dash of salt
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Topping: Combine flour and brown sugar in bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture is consistency of coarse corn meal. Then refrigerate.

Preheat oven to 400º

Filling: Sprinkle lemon juice over sliced apples. Combine flour, sugar, salt and cinnamon, mixing well. Toss with apples. Turn filling into pie shell, spreading evenly. Cover with topping. Bake 40 - 45 minutes--til apples are tender.

Keep an eye on pie after about 35 minutes---I've found 40 minutes to be plenty long--maybe it's my oven.
