2 1/4 cup sifted flour
3 t baking powder
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 t salt

1/2 cup wesson oil
5 egg yolks, unbeaten
3/4 cup cold water
1 t maple flavoring
1 t walnut flavoring

1 cup egg whites
1/2 t cream of tarter

1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Make a well and add oil, yolks, water and flavorings.
In large bowl, beat egg whites and cream of tarter. Beat till very stiff. Pour batter over whites a little at a time. Fold to blend. Add the chopped walnuts. Pour into tube cake pan. Bake 55 minutes at 325 then 15 minutes at 350. Remove from oven and turn upside down on bottle until cool. About 1 hour,

Anna Marie made the best chiffon cakes of anyone I knew. They were always so high. I tried a few times, but they never turned out. She always made everything from scratch.
