5 c.flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 1/2 pkg. dry yeast
4 T warm water
2 c. buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening untill it looks like coarse meal. Dissolve yeast in warm water, add to dry ingredients. Gently pour in buttermilk, work to nice dough and roll out on floured board to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut out with biscuit cutter then dip in melted butter. Stack in twos or fold each in half. Bake at 400 degrees for about 15. minutes. These will keep real well,unbaked, for several days in refrigerator or may be frozen.
