2 lbs. fresh asparagus spears
3 tbsps. butter
2 tbsps. firmly packed light brown sugar
3/4 c. chicken broth
Orange zest strips, optional, for garnish

Directions:
Directions:
Snap off thick woody ends of the asparagus spears. Heat butter in large skillet on medium-high heat until melted. Stir in brown sugar. Cook, while stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. Add the asparagus to mixture, turning to coat. Sauté for two minutes. Add chicken broth and bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, until asparagus is crisp-tender, about 8 to 10 minutes. Transfer to serving platter reserving the pan juices. Cover asparagus to keep warm, while cooking reserved juices over medium-high heat, until reduced by half. Drizzle over the asparagus.
