1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
5 to 6 cooking apples peeled and thinly sliced
2 T butter
Pie crust for two nine in. pies

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar and cinnamon in small bowl. Spread about 1/4 of sugar-cinnamon in bottom of pie crust. before putting in sliced apples

Place bottom layer of apples evenly over sugar mixture and let rest fall where they may, spreading more or less evenly till crust is generously filled with apple slices. Distribute rest of sugar mixture over apples. Dot with 2 T butter. Put on top crust, cut slits for venting and bake at 425 degrees for about 50 minutes. Place pie crust protector over pie for the last 20 minutes.
