1 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/4 cup shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1/4 cup water
3 cups rolled oates
6oz. chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
Sift first four ingredients together. Cream shortening, gradually add sugar & egg.

Add water & dry ingredients to shortening mixture.

Drop from tsp. onto greased cookie sheet.

Bake @ 350 for 12 minutes.

This was Grandma Carries most loved cookie. All the Grandkids loved this cookie - Grandma would have them frozen in coffee cans for when we came over.
