1 to 2 cans sweetened condensed milk
1 baked pie shell or 8 small tart shells
Cool Whip or unsweetened whipping cream (1 pint)

Directions:
Directions:
Remove label from cans and immerse in boiling water to cover completely. Cook for 3 to 4 hours, making sure that the water covers the cans at all times. Cool. This will take several hours. Pour into baked pie shell or tart shells. Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip.

Variation: Use graham cracker pie shell.

The first time I tried this pie was either in Canada when Nicole Chiasson made it for us, or at O'Charley's. I love Caramel Pie but have to limit my intake. It is very sweet. I love the way O'Charley's serves it with whipped cream sprinkled with small chocolate chips. This is probably the easiest pie to make and great for company.
