1 lb. kielbasa (smoked sausage), sliced
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. oregano
3 c. frozen corn, thawed
1 c. water
3 1/2 c. half-and-half
salt, pepper, diced jalapeņos (to taste)
1/2 lb. grated jack or cheddar cheese

Brown sausage in a heavy pot. Add onion, bell pepper, cumin, and oregano. Cook for 5 minutes. Puree corn and water in food processor, add to pot. Stir in half-and-half, simmer gently (do not boil). Add cheese at last minute.
