Directions:
Let butter and eggs come to room temperature. Preheat oven to 325. Add softened butter and crisco to large mixing bowl. Beat on high until smooth. Let rest for 15-20 mins. Add sugar. Beat on high until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat after each just enough to incorporate. Add baking powder to flour and sift. Add 1/3 of the flour and beat on medium speed until incorporated, add 1/3 milk and beat on medium speed. Continue alternating between flour and milk. Start with flour and end with flour. Add vanilla and almond and beat. Do not over beat batter or cake will be dry. Pour into a greased (using crisco) and floured tube pan. Bake at 325º for 1hr 10 mins. Do not open oven during 1st hour. Cake is done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from oven and let cake rest in tube pan for 20-30 mins. Flip onto a dinner plate and let cool. After cake has cooled, flip it over onto a serving dish.
