4 cups flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 pkg active dry yeast
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup shortening
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 2 cups of flour with sugar, yeast, and salt. Heat milk and shortening until warm. Stir into flour mixture. Add egg and beat well. Mix in enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough that leaves the sides of the bowl. Knead about 10 mins. Place in lightly greased bowl and turn once. Cover and let rise in warm place (80 degrees) until double in size (about 1-1 1/2 hrs). Grease 2- 9" pans. Press down to remove bubbles. Shape dough into balls and place in pans. Let rise in warm place for about 1 hour. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 mins.
