2 C sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 C butter
1 egg
3/4 C milk
2 C thinly sliced apples
1/3 C chopped walnuts
1/3 C sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. cut in butter until mixture resembles meal. Beat together egg and milk; quickly stir into flour mixture. Arrange apples and nuts in a 9 inch pie pan. Sprinkle with sugar and spices; spread dough over all. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes. Loosen cake from sides and bottom and invert onto a serving plate while hot.
