"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Judy,
Sometimes Mom made this recipe and called it home-made fudge (served two purposes). She would tell us to get a spoon out of the drawer and we would dig our spoons into the pan, after it was cooled and heap up our spoons with this fudgy frosting. We were each allowed to have a spoon of fudge. I don't think any of us were allowed to double dip...besides the fact that with all ten of us kids there wouldn't have been enough for more than one time around. Mom surely would have had to double that recipe when your family came to visit because you had nearly as many brothers and sisters as we did! Wasn't it fun!
