2 1/4 c. sifted plain flour
1 tsp. double acting baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 T. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1/3 c. chopped maraschino cherries
2 1/2 c. corn flakes

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and milk. Blend in dry ingredients. Add pecans, dates and vanilla. Mix well; shape into balls, using a good teaspoon for each cookie. Crush the corn flakes; roll each ball in the flakes. Flatten slightly; place 1/4 of a cherry on each cookie. Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 60
