5 lbs potatoes (qtr. or halve them for uniformed boiling)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter
4 oz. cream cheese
1/2 c. sour cream
1 c. milk
1 tsp. garlic powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Peel potatoes into 4-5 qt. saucepan.  Rinse potatoes, then cover them with water and add 1 tsp salt.  Bring to a boil; reduce heat.  Cover and simmer 20-30 minutes or until potatoes can easily be pierced with a fork.  While potatoes drain in a colander, warm the butter, cream cheese, sour cream, milk, and garlic in the same saucepan.  Re-add potatoes and mash, adding milk in small amounts to desired consistency.  Add salt and pepper to taste.

Personal Notes:
I usually make a double batch to make sure I have leftovers!  The recipe refrigerates and freezes well, so it can be made days before the event, then reheated!
