Blend together in saucepan;
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
Stir in 1 cup water
Cook over med heat until it comes to full boil, remove from heat. Then add 2 tbsp butter, 1 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp lemon juice

Dough

Blend 1 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
finely cut 3 tbsp shortening
add 1 beaten egg
1 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup milk

In a 9 in greased pan, slice 4-5 apples, pour sauce over apples. Mix dough ingredients, stir to make a thick batter and drop by tbsp on top of apples.

Bake 375º 35-40 min
