Tart, large apples depending on how many servings

Directions:
Wash and remove cores. Pare a 1/2 in band of skin from the top of each apple. Arrange in baking dish and fill center of each apple with 1 tbsp brown sugar, top with small piece of butter. Add water to pan to a depth of 1/2in.

Bake in preheated oven 375º until tender 30-60 min depending on apple firmness.

You can add variety and put one of the following in the center; raisins, nuts, mincemeat.
