1 small beef roast
1 pkg. Pioneer brown gravy mix
1 3/4 c. water

Directions:
Wash roast and put into crock pot. Thoroughly mix gravy mix (the pkg. should call for 2 cups water) with 1 3/4 c. water and pour over roast. Cook on low for 8 hours or until tender. Remove meat to platter. Pour the gravy and juices through a strainer into a saucepan and thicken (if needed) with cornstarch or flour.
Serve roast with gravy.

You can use any package of brown gravy mix, but pay attention to the amount of water it calls for according to package directions. If it only calls for 1 c. water, mix with only 1 c. water before adding to meat. You can also add sliced onions, potatoes, and carrots to this halfway through cooking.
