1-1/4 C. warm water
2 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. oil
1 package of dry yeast
3 tsp. salt
3 C. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Place water in a bowl and add sugar and yeast. Dissolve, then add the rest of the ingredients and stir together. Cover and let double until double in bulk. Spoon into prepared 9 x 5 x 3-inch pan and let rise until one-inch from the top of the pan. Bake at 370º for about 45 - 50 minutes.

Who Elsie is, I have no clue, but this was one of the first things I learned to bake as a child. It was my family's favorite as a child growing up and it has been a favorite of my family's now. We often make it with spaghetti or homemade soup. If any is left over (and often times there isn't any), we toast leftovers for breakfast and it is GREAT toasted.
