2 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion
Salt and pepper to taste
4-6 T. Gephardt chili powder
3 T. flour
2 cans kidney beans

Directions:
Directions:
Brown ground beef and onions until onions are soft and meat is no longer pink. Remove from pot. Add oil and flour and brown slightly. Add about 5-6 cups of water and stir well with flour mixture. Add meat and onion back to pot. Add kidney beans and 4 - 6 T. chili powder depending on taste. Simmer about 30 minutes. If it gets too thick add additional water.

Mother liked Ranch Style beans rather than kidney beans and she didn't like flour in her chili. She liked it thinner while I like a nice, thick chili.
