4 lbs. baking potatoes, peeled and quartered
1 1/2 c. half and half
2 sticks butter softend and cut into pieces
salt and pepper
fresh chives snipped for garnish

Directions:
Cook potatoes until tender and drain. In a small saucepan or microwave heat the half and half until steaming. Remove from heat and add butter until melted. Mash potatoes and add cream mixture. Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with chives.
*I like to crack a clove of garlic and heat in milk and butter. Remove garlic then add mixture to potatoes. Add 1/4 c. or more of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese and mix together. Garnish with dill.
