1/2 C butter
1/3/4 C boiling water
1 C quick cook oats
1C brown sugar
1 C white sugar
2 eggs
1 3/4 C flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 T cocoa
1 tsp vanilla

1 12 oz. pkg/ chocolate chips
3/4 C nuts, chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in boiling water: stir in oatmeal and cool. Add sugars and stir well. Add eggs & blend. Stir in dry ingredients, vanilla and 1/2 of chocolate chips. Pour into greased & floured (I use Baker's Joy) 9 x13 pan. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips and nuts over the top.

Bake 350º for 40 minutes.

Each serving contains 495 calories, 21 grams of fat, 72 grams of carbohydrates, so go easy! Hopefully the fiber in the oatmeal and nuts make up for some of the calories!

If you don't love frosting, this cake is for you! very moist!
