8 c shortening for frying
4 c all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
2 tsp salt
2 tbsp shortening
1 c water
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat shortening to 375º in deep fryer. In a large bowl sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs (I use the food processor) Gradually add water until dough pulls together. Divide into 4 pieces and form each piece into a ball. Roll the balls into an 8 inch circle. Cut each into 8 wedges. In a large bowl mix the cinnamon and sugar, set aside. Fry the wedges until they puff up and turn light brown. Drain briefly, roll in the sugar, serve warm.
