3/4 cups butter
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. granted orange rind
3/4 cup cold water
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 1/4 cups flour
3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup orange juice
3 egg whites

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, sugar and egg yolks together. Add dry ingredients with water, juice and orange rind. Add stiffly beaten egg whites last. Bake 30-40 minutes at 350 degrees.

Orange Filling for Cake
Melt 2 T butter, 1 cup sugar, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/4 cup flour, 1 cup orange juice, and
2 T orange rind
Mix, cook, and add 1 tsp. lemon flavoring. Cool until thick, spread between cake layers when cool.
