20 oz can unsweetened pineapple tidbits
1/4 c sugar
1/4 c butter or margarine
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp lemon juice
2 tbsp cold water
1 c Miracle Whip
8 c apples, cored & cut into bit size pieces
2 c grapes, cut and seeded
2 tsp poppy seed
1 c roaster pecans, chopped

Directions:
Drain pineapple, conserve juice. Set pineapple aside. Place juice in a saucepan; add butter, sugar and lemon juice. Bring to a boil. Combine water & cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth. Add to juice mixture & cook until thickened, stirring constantly. Chill, then stir in Miracle Whip. In a large bowl, combine pineapple, apples, grapes, poppy seeds & cooked dressing. Fold in pecans just before serving.

Makes approximately 14 servings.

This salad is better if made a day ahead & refrigerated. Fuji apples are recommended for this salad.
