2 c sugar
1/2 c shortening
3 eggs
2 c flour
1/2 c sour milk
1/2 c cocoa
3/4 c boiling water
2 tsp soda
1 tsp vanilla
salt
Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar, vanilla, and shortening together. Separate yolks from whites. Add yolks to sugar and shortening mixture. Sift flour, salt, and cocoa together three times. Add alternately to mixture with the milk. Last add boiling water and soda. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake in two layers.

Frosting:

3 packages semisweet chocolate bits
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 c sour cream
nuts

mix and heat in double boiler
