1 1/2 cups melted shortening-I use margarine
2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup bre-Rabbit molasses
2 eggs
4 tsp. soda
4 cups flour
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Melt shortening over low heat, allow to cool. In large bowl add sugar, molasses, eggs, and shortening, and beat well. Sift together the flour, soda, spices, salt, add gradually to first mixture. Dough will be stiff. Form in small balls and roll in sugar and place on baking sheet 2 inches apart. Bake 350º 8-10 minutes. Do not over bake. Cookies will crack down as they bake and cool.
