1/2 pound butter at room temperature
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. rum flavoring
1 tsp. vanilla
3 cups plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 cup milk
1 cup black walnuts (chopped)

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and baking powder together and sit aside. Cream 3 cups sugar with butter and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well between each one. Add flavorings to mixture. Alternate flour mixture and milk with above mixture. Mix in black walnuts. Pour in to prepared pans. Bake at 325º for approximately 80 minutes.
