stale or dried bread
Onions
1/2 c. Butter
1/2 c. milk
Cheddar Cheese Shredded (optional)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º
Peel and dice potatoes into a casserole dish. Peel and dice a large onion. Break bread like you would for stuffing. Mix bread and potatoes and onions together and spread around the baking dish. Melt the butter, pour over the mixture, and next pour 1/2 c. milk over the potatoes. Cover it with foil and bake about 1 hour. Then take the foil off and bake until the potatoes are done (about 45 minutes). Sprinkle shredded cheese over top, heat to melt cheese - you can use longhorn cheese or any other kind of cheese you prefer.
