4 c. fresh peaches
1 Tbls. fresh lemon juice
1/4 to 1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbls. corn starch
2 tsps. butter
pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1 9 inch baked pie shell

Directions:
Directions:
Peel and slice peaches. Sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar. Let stand for at least 1 hour. Drain syrup from peaches, mix cornstarch with a little syrup or cold water. Add to the rest of the syrup. Cook over low heat till thick and comes to a boil (stir constantly). Add to peaches. Add butter, salt and extract. Let cool slightly and pour into baked pie crust. Chill and serve with whipped cream,
