1/4 C. butter
1 C. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 Tbls. hot water
3 Tbls. rum or brandy

Directions:
Directions:
Beat the butter and powdered sugar together. Add the hot water then the vanilla and brandy or rum. Beat until well blended, Chill, This sauce is served over warm Poorman's Cake or the Old Irish Plum Pudding.

Our Grandmother used to make plum pudding and this sauce is what she could serve with it. My sister thought she had the recipe but she couldn't find it so between her and I this is the best we could come up with from old cookbook of our Mother's.
