1 peck green tomatoes
2 lemons chopped
4 lbs. brown sugar
2 lbs. seedless raisins
2 tbsp. salt
2 tbsp. cloves
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. mace
1 cup vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Scald and peel tomatoes and put through food chopper using coarse blade. Add lemons, sugar, raisins, vinegar and spices. Bring to a boil. Cook slowly for 1 hours. Fill jars one at a time and seal. Can be made in smaller amount for mincemeat pies.

In Granny Hedrick's handwriting in cookbook scrapbook. "The kitchen smelled so good when Mom made this. We lived on Horse Creek. We came home, it was cold and snowing. Mom was doing laundry on her washboard in the old farm kitchen. She had made an early supper and the kitchen smelled of fresh clean clothes and mincemeat pie."
