4 c. Flour
1 lb shortening (marg. or butter)
1 lb sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 to 2 tsp red pepper
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and pepper together. Put cheese and shortening through food chopper. This can be done if a bit of flour is put in chopper first. Work flour into cheese mixture. Pinch off pieces and roll into marble sized balls. Place on cookie sheet. Center each with pecan and press into ball to anchor nut. Bake at 400 for 9 minutes. Can be frozen.
