1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 (16 oz.) pkg. dark brown sugar
5 eggs
3 cups all purpose flour, divided
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
3/4 cup milk
2 cups pecans, chopped
2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Combine 2 1/2 cups flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Dredge pecans in remaining 1/2 cup flour. Stir in pecans and vanilla.

Pour batter in a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 deg. for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10-15 minutes; remove from pan and let cool.
