1/4 cup luewarm water
1 packet yeast
1 1/4 cups milk
1/3 cup shortening
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup sugar
Dash nutmeg
4 - 5 cups flour
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Optional
Instead of vanilla, lemon flavor and 1 1/2 tablespoons molasses can be used orange zest can be used in place of lemon

Filling
1/2 cup melted butter
3/4 cups sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Topping
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup oleo or butter
3 tablespoons corn syrup
1/2 tsp molasses
8 oz package pecans halves and whole

Oven 350º
In warmed mixing bowl dissolve the yeast in the 1/4 lukewarm water. Stir in milk, shortening, salt, sugar and egg; add 2 1/2 cups of the flour and nutmeg; mix until smooth.
Add another 1 1/2 cups flour, mixing with your hands, turn onto floured surface and knead dough until smooth and blistered, adding more flour if necessary
Round up and place in greased bowl and turn gresed side up, cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled; punch down and let rise again.
Turn dough out onto a floured surface and roll out in a rectangle approx 12x24" will be about 1/4" thick. Brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with the cinnamon sugar mixture. Roll up so you have a 24" long roll.
For the topping
Combine brown sugar oleo, corn syrup, and molasses in a saucepan and bring to a boil to dissolve sugar, about 1 minute; divide topping between two 13x9 pans, place pecans on topping.
Cut your rolled dough in approx 1 inch wide slices and place 12 in each pan.
Cover and let rise until doubled. Bake at 350º approx 35 minutes. remove from oven and let set for a few minutes and then invert pans onto a wire rack.
