Cake:
2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 stick margarine
1/2 cup Crisco
4 TBSP cocoa
1 cup water
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda, added to buttermilk
2 unbeaten eggs
1 tsp vanilla
Icing:
1 stick margarine
4 TBSP cocoa
6 TBSP buttermilk
1 box confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 300º. Cake: Sift together sugar and flour. Mix margarine, crisco, cocoa and water in saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over sugar and flour. Mix well. Add other cake ingredients. Mix well. Mist 9X13" baking pan with spray with flour. Pour mixture into pan and bake for 45 minutes. Prepare icing while cake is baking. Ice cake in pan while cake is hot. Icing: Melt margarine in saucepan. Add cocoa and buttermilk. Stir together. Bring to a boil. Pour over sifted confectioners sugar. Bake well. Stir in vanilla and nuts.
