1 cup butter, softened
1 ½ cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 each eggs
3 ½ cups sifted flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat sugar and butter and vanilla until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Slowly mix in dry ingredients, using slow speed on mixer. Roll out to a bout 1/16” to 1/8” thick. Cut into shapes on a well floured board. Place on a greased baking sheet. Brush with milk and add colored sugar. Bake about 8 to 9 minutes.
Yield: 7 dozen cookies
