1 c sugar
1/2 c butter (or margarine)
2 eggs
2 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 c gum drops (chopped)
1 c raisins
1 c milk

Brown Sugar Icing
1/3 c packed brown sugar
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp milk
1 1/4 c sifted icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs one at a time. Mix well.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, gum drops, raisins and milk. Stir to combine.
Put in an 8 x 8 inch pan.
Bake at 350º F for 50 to 60 minutes.

Ice with Brown Sugar Icing.

In bowl, combine brown sugar, butter and milk; microwave at High for 45 to 60 seconds or until butter has melted, sugar is dissolved and mixture boils.
Stir in icing sugar and vanilla; let cool to lukewarm. Beat until thick enough to spread but not grainy. Mixture should hold imprint of spoon. Makes enough for one 8 inch cake or 12 cupcakes.
