2 cups sugar
1 cup water
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
3 egg whites

Directions:
Beat egg whites in deep bowl on high speed with electric mixture until stiff but not dry. Combine sugar, water, and cream of tartar in saucepan. Boil until mixture will spin a thread. Remove from heat and very slowly add boiled mixture to egg whites while beating with electric mixer on high speed until spreading consistency.
