2C all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
Dash salt
1 T granulated sugar
1/2 C butter, margarine, or shortening
3/4 C buttermilk
1T melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour, baking powder,baking soda, salt, &sugar in mixing bowl. Cut in butter with pastry blender until mix resembles course crumbles. Add buttermilk mix quickly to make a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface knead a few times to make soft dough, don't over knead or the biscuits will turn hard & dry. roll out to a 6"X6" square place on an ungreased baking sheet with knife cut dough into 12 even portions. Don't separate. bake at 400º until golden brown (about 15 min) Serve hot with butter jam or honey
