1 c butter
2 c sugar
4 eggs
3 c all purpose flour, sifted, then measured
1 tsp salt
1 c milk
3 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar until very fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder 3 times. Add flour and milk alternately to creamed mixture, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Divide evenly into 3 nine inch greased and floured pans.

Bake in a 325 preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Test with a straw or cake tester. Cool in pans 5-10 minutes. Remove from cake pans and col on cake racks.
