Dad's Stuffing Recipe

12 c breadcrumbs
¾ c onion – chopped or diced
1 c celery, diced (sm pieces)
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp sage, thyme and poultry seasonings
1 c butter (optional)
1 lb sausage (pork or sage flavored)
water to moisten

Directions:
Directions:
Mix bread crumbs, onion, celery and seasonings in large container. Brown sausage and drain grease. Add sausage to breadcrumb mixture. Add butter if you want or you can moisten with water. (If butter used you still need to add water until moistened). Stuff turkey and cook or stuffing can be cooked separately in covered dish at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Dad would make this every Thanksgiving. He’d stay up late the night before breaking up the bread by hand – while watching TV. It’s still a hit in our families, but we sometimes use store bought breadcrumbs.
