Directions:Coat an electric skillet with spray oil. Set thermostat to 350 degrees. Place sliced meat into pan and slightly brown. Sprinkle with a little sugar, then with about 1/8 cup soy sauce or to taste. Add about a cup of wine. Simmer these together for a few min. Move the meat to one corner, then add the vegetables and tofu in separate sections (don't mix them). Let them simmer for 1-2 min. Place skillet in middle of table and let guests remove what they would like when it is done. Add more of each vegetable as needed. Allow dish to continue to simmer throughout the meat. It's fun to use chopsticks. |

Notes: Since the School Sisters of Notre Dame is an international congregation of sisters, we are fortunate to share in the many cultures in which we serve. This dish was prepared for us by some of the Japanese sisters. Of course, we practices it a lot because we liked it so much. Even the tofu is delicious when cooked in steak sauce. This is intended for use with a small gathering, and is eaten as it is cooked right at the table.
