Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 pkg. dry yeast
2 eggs
1/4 cup warm water
7 1/2 cup flour
2 cup boiling water
2 tsp. salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup warm water. In another bowl, pour 2 cups boiling water over the sugar, salt & butter. Let cool until luke warm. Add 4 cups of flour & beat well. Add the remaining flour & knead for about 10 min.

Put the dough into a greased bowl & cover with waxed paper. Place the bowl into the refrigerator for at least 24 hr.

Making the pretzels:
Take a small piece of the dough (about the size of an orange) & begin rolling into a long thin rope. When the rope is about 18" long, transfer it to a buttered pie tin. Starting in the middle of the rope, form it into a circle around the inside edge of the pan.

When the two ropes overlap at the top of the pan, twist them together twice & place the ends along the bottom of the dough circle, moisten the ends with a bit of water & fasten down.

The pretzels should then be allowed to raise again to about twice the thickness. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with red or green sugar.

Bake @ 375 until golden brown
